Sports Medicine

Southern Vermont Athletics provides a variety of sports medicine services available to all student-athletes. All available services are free to student-athletes and included during their respective sport seasons. Off season services are also available by request of the student-athlete. Additional Physical Therapy and Orthopedic services are also available for Southern Vermont College student-athletes.


Athletic Training

The Southern Vermont College Athletic Training Department works with the coaching staff to ensure the safety of the student-athletes during athletic participation. The Athletic Training program works to prevent, assess, and rehabilitate athletic injuries, as well as provide acute health care and follow up care to injured athletes. In addition to the support of athletic injuries, the Athletic Training Department is available for any health related concerns by the student-athletes

The Athletic Training Room is located within the Field House and is accessible to student-athletes throughout the day. The Athletic Training Room includes an evaluation table, taping table, and two treatment tables with the following modalities available; hydrocollator, ice, whirlpool, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound. Satellite Athletic Training stations are available at all campus home athletic events throughout the athletic seasons.

The Athletic Training Department works closely with additional medical care providers including physical therapy and orthopedic professionals for any existing or acute injury needs.



Southern Vermont College does not promote the use of any supplements for athletic performance. Southern Vermont College adheres to any and all NCAA regulations for drugs and sports supplements. Supplements are not encouraged to take the place of proper nutritional and daily meals. The athletic trainer and coaching staff of Southern Vermont College believe that hard work, dedication, and proper nutrition will provide the student-athlete will the proper foundation to achieve maximal sports performance results. Any student-athlete questions regarding supplements can schedule a meeting with the athletic trainer.
