Tim Penrod is in his second season as Head Coach of the Mountaineer Men's Soccer Team. He enters this year with a strong desire to build on the learning experience of the 2007 season.
Prior to coming to SVC, Coach Penrod had a successful playing career at Juniata College (Pa.). A four-year letter winner at Juniata, Penrod was the starting goalkeeper his freshman and junior years. During his junior season, he was named to the Penn State-Altoona All-Tournament Team and helped his team to a second place finish. In addtion to playing soccer, Penrod earned his Bachelors of Science in Social Studies Education.
In May of 2008, Coach Penrod was selected to the Montclair Publishing, LLC's "Who's Who in Collegiate Faculty, a nation-wide publication recognizing members of the collegiate workforce who have made a positive impact on their institution.
In addition to serving as the men's coach, Penrod is also the Student-Athlete Advisory Committe (SAAC) Coordinator. The SAAC is a committe of student-athletes that work together to involve the schools athletic teams in a variety of community service activities as well as act as a liason between each team and the school administration.
Coach Penrod is an active member in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and currently holds his Regional and National Coaching Diplomas.
During the summer months, Coach Penrod is the Director of Soccer Operations at Camp Canadensis, located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. His duties there include the supervision of a staff that is responsible for completing a summer-long comprehensive soccer program for children ages 7-16.
