Harrington... So Good He's Boring... Or not
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior forward Nick Harrington, (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) was named the national Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player of the Week for the seventh time this season. He has won the award six of the last eight weeks. It was the 11th time this season Harrington has picked up an honor for player of the week as he has been tabbed by the Eastern College Athletic Conference four times. In addition, he was selected as the A3DI Player of the Month in December and January.
In the AD3I Tournament against Newbury College and Finlandia University, Harrington averaged better than his season numbers with 29 points and 17.5 rebounds per game while shooting 20-of-34 from the floor. Versus Newbury, he crossed the 1,000-rebound mark and the 1,500-point plateau for his career. His final career numbers are 1,528 points and 1,026 rebounds.
On the season, Harrington is first in the nation in rebounding with 15.5 per game. He led Division III last season with 14.0 boards a contest. In addition, he tallied 27.2 points a game, which is fourth best in the country. The senior 1,000-point scorer also averages 2.3 steals, 2.0 assists, and 1.1 blocks a game. Earlier this year, he became the second player in Division III history to record a 30-point and 30-rebound game.
Harrington is 10th in Field goal percentage shooting at a clip of 62%. He is the school's all-time leading rebounder and is second in points.
