ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Once again, Southern Vermont freshman guard Derrick Cenicola (Hamilton, N.Y.) grabs conference rookie honors. Cenicola averaged 16.0 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game, 1.0 assist per game and 3.0 steals per game. He shot 27% (5-for-18) from the floor, 22% (2-for-9) from behind the arc and 100% (4-for-4) from the charity stripe.

BENNINGTON, Vt. The Southern Vermont College mens basketball team played host to New England Collegiate Conference opponent the Becker College Hawks falling behind early and succumbing to an 87-72 loss Saturday afternoon in the Field House. SVC junior guard Lance Spratling led all scorers with 35 points and pulled down 11 boards for a double-double. The Hawks were led by junior forwards Rajai Leggett and Matt Petrides who each posted 22 points in the victory.

DANBURY, Conn. The Southern Vermont College mens basketball team, leading by four at the break, let the Colonels run wild with a 23-0 run to open the second half as the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team came from behind to defeat SVC, 80-68 Thursday night at Feldman Arena. Guard Lance Spratling had a monster double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Mountaineers.
