CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – A Pine Manor College goal in the 90th minute made way for Southern Vermont College to fall 1-0 Saturday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at Hedley Field.

The Mountaineers were outshot 19-4 through the opening 89:02 of the match, but PMC's 20th take would wind up in the back of the net before the hosts closed out the victory.

SVC (0-7) is next in action on Thursday with a 4 p.m. kickoff at home against Johnson State College; that will serve as the Mountaineers' last game before starting New England Collegiate Conference action over the weekend.

Southern Vermont freshman keeper Dylan Berg (Tampa, Fla.) made 10 saves between the pipes in the loss (0-7).

The Gators took a 5-0 advantage in shots on goal through the first half, but Berg was able to turn away each of Pine Manor's targeted attempts to keep the stalemate scoreless at intermission. SVC tested Berg's counterpart three times in the second stanza but could not beat the PMC goalie as the end of regulation grew closer. Finally, the Gators broke the tie with a long pass from the backfield that was volleyed in for the game winner.
