CHICOPEE, Mass. – Southern Vermont College fell 3-0 to both Elms College and Eastern Nazarene College Saturday afternoon during a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's volleyball tri-match at EC's Picknelly Arena.
The Mountaineers (3-18, 1-6 NECC) are next in action on Wednesday when they host Newbury College for a 7 p.m. league tilt.

The hosting Blazers won the opening match of the day with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, and 25-17.
SVC was led in the kills column by freshman Te Hayward (Baltimore, Md.) who had five, and he also popped up a couple of digs on the defensive side. Freshman libero Chris Jimenez (Newark, N.J.) tallied a team-best seven digs while classmate Bryan Bernal (Riverside, Calif.) registered nine assists, two kills and two digs.
EASTERN NAZARENE 3 – SOUTHERN VERMONT 0
SVC fell to ENC in the second match of the tri as Eastern Nazarene took it with game scores of 25-5, 25-20, and 25-12 for a split of the season series.
Hayward tied the team-high of four kills while adding three digs to his line, and senior Jeff James (Bowie, Md.) notched another four kills in the effort. Jimenez and Bernal each had 10 digs with Bernal also recording seven assists and a pair of kills.
