Mountaineers Seven Can’t Pull Off “W”

POULTNEY, Vt. - The Southern Vermont College Women's Soccer team lost its second straight game of the season in a tough battle with in-state rival the Green Mountain Eagles by a score of 10-0 Saturday in Poultney,Vt.

The Mountaineers (0-2) were running shorthanded against the Eagles with only seven players suited up to play. Freshman goalkeeper Jillian Neudecker (Johnsonville, N.Y./ Tamarac HS), who leads the NECC in saves, had 10 saves in the game. The Eagles defense shut down the Mountaineers only allowing six total shots.

The Eagles (1-2) picked up its first win of the season with seven different players scoring goals on the day. Pragatee Dhakal scored three goals, while Cedar Potts also contributed two goals and an assist for Green Mountain.

The Southern Vermont College Women's Soccer team will be returning home for its next game against Word of Life Bible Institute on Thursday, September 11.The game kicks off at 4:30PM.
