Trailblazers Outplay Mountaineers

BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont College women's volleyball team fell to host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Wednesday by the score of 3-0.

Southern Vermont struggled in the first two games with a lot of unforced errors. MCLA was able to win game one, 25-10, and was equally as dominant in game two (25-12).

Game three appeared to be more of the same, as MCLA went ahead 20-11; but the Mountaineers mounted a comeback. SVC cut the lead to 21-17 before MCLA recovered and finished off the game and match 25-19.

Hayley Gunderson and Wendy McLatchy led the Trailblazers with seven kills each. Southern Vermont was led by freshman Joa Claircius (Clermont FL, East Ridge HS), who had a pair of timely aces in game three and also led the Mountaineers in kills.
