SALEM, Mass. – Southern Vermont College fell by a 2-1 margin to Anna Maria College Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action at Alumni Field during the consolation game of Salem State University's weekend tournament.

AMC struck first with a tally less than 15 minutes into the game, and the 1-0 lead then lasted into the second half. The AMCATS increased their advantage in the 64th minute, but the Mountaineers cut it back to a one-score game with 21:10 left on the clock. Anna Maria was able to hold off SVC, however, to take the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

Next up for Southern Vermont (0-2) is a Wednesday road game as the team visits Yeshiva University for an 8 p.m. kickoff under the lights.

SVC sophomore Nick Langat (Silver Spring, Md.) scored his first goal of the year—being assisted by freshman Carlos Ponce (El Paso, Texas).

Mountaineer freshman keeper Diego Uquillas (Erie, Pa.) turned away four AMC shots in the loss (0-2).
