JOHNSON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest at Northern Vermont University-Johnson Tuesday afternoon with the hosting Badgers claiming a 2-0 victory at Minaret Field.

Johnson put one home 10 minutes into the match and then got an insurance tally to go in the 51st minute. SVC was limited to just three shots on goal—all coming in the second half—as the Badgers snapped their three-game losing streak against the Mountaineers.

Southern Vermont (2-11-1) is back at home for its next game as the Mountaineers host Elms College on Saturday for a 1 p.m. New England Collegiate Conference kickoff.

Johnson took eight shots in the opening frame while not conceding a single take to SVC. The Badgers had four shots in the opening 10 minutes of play with the last of those crossing the line into the cage to make it 1-0.

That score stood through the intermission and into the sixth minute of the second period when the Badgers put home another to garner some breathing room. All three of Southern Vermont's shots in the final 45 minutes were on frame, but they were all turned away by the Johnson keeper as the Badgers improved to 8-5 on the year.

SVC freshman keeper Diego Uquillas (Erie, Pa.) made five saves in the first 45 minutes of the loss (2-8-1).
