Men’s Cross Country Registers Two Personal Bests at Keene State Invitational

KEENE, N.H. – Southern Vermont College competed in the Keene State College Invitational men's 8000 meter race on Saturday with a pair of the Mountaineers turning in personal bests.

SVC placed fifth out of the seven teams that registered scores on the day.

Southern Vermont takes next weekend off to rest up for its final regular season meet—that being an 11 a.m. start at Western New England University's Golden Bear Invitational on Saturday, October 13.

Bennington College sophomore C.G. Holden (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was first across the line for Southern Vermont as he came in at 29:16. Senior Jackson Amankrah (New York City, N.Y.) took 15 seconds off his previous best for a 34:45—a time 1:46 faster than he ran last year's Keene Invitational 8k. Freshman Rudy Moncada (Mission, Texas) knocked off 25 seconds from his personal record to chart a 47:37 and round out the Mountaineers' scoring placements.
