D’Alessio Collects IWLCA Honor Roll Accolade

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association recently announced its 2019 NCAA Division III Honor Roll with Southern Vermont College junior Juliena D’Alessio (Berlin, N.Y.) qualifying for the laurel.

To be eligible for the accolade, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater following the spring semester. D’Alessio met those requirements as a student in SVC’s radiologic sciences program in addition to being a stellar defender for the Mountaineers.

D’Alessio not only excelled in her field of study—but she also excelled on the field for Southern Vermont. She was stellar in the defensive third throughout her SVC career—tying for second in team history with 48 caused turnovers while ranking eighth with 84 ground balls. In 2018, she was selected to the New England Collegiate Conference All-First Team.

In May, D’Alessio graduated from Southern Vermont with her associate’s degree; she is set to finish her bachelor’s coursework at Mass. College of Liberal Arts this upcoming year. The former Mountaineer also plans on completing her playing career as a Trailblazer.
